Hyacinth AIDS Foundation is New Jersey’s first AIDS service organization, and was founded in 1985. Hyacinth’s staff and volunteers provide an array of services designed to assist people living with AIDS, their families, and friends, to obtain the support they need, The services are confidential, and most are free of charge. In addition, Hyacinth delivers preventive education and training to the public. Representatives of the agency are active in the public policy arena, advocating for a humane and rational response to the growing HIV epidemic.
Hyacinth also provides free anonymous, confidential HIV testing, legal services, educational workshops, and recreation programs. It has statewide program locations and regional services.
This grant was used for general support services for patients infected with the AIDS virus.
