Global Renaissance Conference Series
Global Renaissance Conference Series
The Infinity Foundation and the Educational Council on Indic Traditions were pleased to sponsor an international conference entitled “Completing the Global Renaissance: The Indic Contributions,” co-convened by Robert Thurman of Columbia University and the Global Renaissance Institute, Stuart Sovatsky of the California Institute of Integral Studies, and Rajiv Malhotra of the Infinity Foundation. The conference was held July 24 through July 29, 2002 at the Menla Institute (Asclepius Foundation) in scenic Phoenicia, NY in the Catskill mountains. It was the first of five conferences in the Global Renaissance series, which will be convened biannually over the first decade of the third millennium of the “common era”. This series will explore the ways in which we can forge a truly global effort to improve the world in which we live. This can be achieved only via the broadening and deepening of cross-cultural appreciation and understanding, and not via the hegemony of any one group or groups over others.
